In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Edward Haste will not refund money for my DOA Bearded Dragon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sent the remaining amount of the money owed on this female on the 26th of February. Ed told me that it would be ok to ship out on Monday. I have a FedEx so I sent him the shipping label for the girl. Long story short. FedEx delivered the girl a day late because of the storm.

Im confused here.... who said it was delayed because of a storm. I live an hour away from Memphis... and we havent hand any storms in the last couple of weeks. Someone is feeding you a line of BS :yesnod:

renae, that was a one of kind animal, i cant replace her,and i dont have the cash.why didnt i hear from you on the day is was to be delieverd instead of the second?i assumed it was fine and then the second day you said it was there and dead.look at my emails i never guaranteed it!look at most breeders terms they dont either when temps are not between 40 and 89.you booked and paid the shipping why didnt you get it insured?the weather wasnt that bad on both ends,i think fedex just screwed up and blamed it on the weather!maybe you should have went UPS?

Even if she did book and pay the shipping and you did not think the weather was sufficient enough to ship in you should have contacted her and told her that shipping would be delayed until the weather was nicer. On that note, Why would you use a heat pack that is good for one day and not a 2 day or longer heat pack if you did not think that the weather was sufficient to ship in?

Ok, Ed - You not having the money has NOTHING to do with the situation.

While it is true that most breeders will NOT ship if temps are low BUT YOU DID, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure that the animal is safe to ship NOT the buyer. I don't care who paid for the shipping it is your responsibility to ensure it is safe. That you are trying to blame the buyer is CRAP and you know it, so just stop right there with that line of reasoning. Oh also, great customer service there "you just screwed up and blamed it on the weather," NICE.

Actually I think I've seen more situations lately, than ever, where paypal won't even bother to take any complaints into account as long as a tracking number proving arrival of the package is provided. Seems like as soon as they see that info they say it's not on them to try to get your money back any more.

That is absolutely true, if the seller can produce proof that the shipment arrived they are clear as far as paypal is concerned! Credit cards solve this problem as you can file a claim that the product was not what as advertised.

i dont have a site stateing terms and i never guaranteed live delievery.maybe renae should have gotten that before the deal was done?

WOW, again. Good luck with that customer service. Also, get prepared for a bunch of negative attention with that attitude.

Want to state a few things. The storm was in cali (near OPs location) it was a 2 day rain storm but the temps NEVER went below 40. The night temps were in the 50's days in 65-75. (This is off memory but you can check threw a number of websites for exact numbers) ed. Even if it was carrier error, the blame is on you because you put a 1 day heat pack in with her! Refund her money, resolve this situation, and practice better shipping methods. My .02

OK, maybe she should have got the guaranteed live delivery before being shipped. But with that being said how many people do you think will purchase anything from you knowing that you do not guarantee live delivery? You are digging yourself a hole with your comments and I myself would not purchase anything knowing live arrival is not guaranteed. Write this off as a loss and a lesson learned and refund the money to your customer. Refund everything but the shipping cost and make this right and maybe this thread will not haunt you later down the road because you did the right thing and refunded the money and made a customer satisfied by doing the right thing.

Jeff

how long?

ive been shipping for a long time and tom you know aswell as i do that if you bought something you would want a statement in writeing guaranteeing live arrival!i said i thought it would be ok to ship not that i guarantee it.

You told your customer that you thought it would be ok to ship. This proved out to not be the case in this instance hence the reason the bad guy thread was started. If you told her that you thought it would be safe to ship you are to blame and not her. You may want to go over your terms of service and revamp them because you should guarantee your shipping. If you would have used proper shipping materials there is a good chance this thread would not be here right now because it would have arrived alive and well.

Honestly I believe you are splitting hairs on the live arrival "guarantee". The only people I have dealt with that do not guarantee live arrival are some wholesalers. Even most of them guarantee live arrival. It is your responsibility to replace the dragon. She did not purchase a dead animal and that is what she was delivered.

I agree that this situation sucks for all involved but, you will lose this battle in the end with your lack of customer service. Bite the bullet and refund the price of the animal.

Ed... Man Up and take responsibility!! In my opinion at least a Partial if not full refund is due in this case.... If you didn't Guarantee Live Arrival then it comes to suspect that you weren't even worried about the animal in question!! I Guarantee Live Arrival and if the shipping company makes a mistake... I know that the animals will be OK for at least 40 hours because I won't use a less then 40 hour heat pack while shipping in this weather! Before you start shipping animals take a lesson in packaging them properly to avoid situations like this!! Read Read Read... it's a good thing to do!!

Do the Right Thing Ed!!! Customer Service goes a Long Long Way in the Reptile Industry!!!

Sooooo, because she did not ask about any guarantee you don't have one. BUT had she asked about it you would have guaranteed it then? Either you guarantee live arrival or you do not. PERIOD.

You may have been shipping for a while, how long have you been in business with practices such as what is outlined here?

She did not ask for a dead dragon but got one.

Actually, the questions is how long do you expect to continue to be in business with practices as such?

:shootfoot Good job... with two posts you probably made most folks "do not do business with list" :shootfoot

First... you should never pull the cash for a couple of days... just for cases like this. You never know..... ahhhh but that doesnt matter to you because you dont guarantee live delivery. You just take the money and run.... just like the low rent scammers that we bust every week.

Second... You cant insure live animals... of couse you'd know this if you were FedEx certified. You have to sign a waiver or you dont ship (at least legally).

Third... Did you just have a brain fart and tell your customer they should have chosen another carrier. You really are a piece of work.

Fourth.... Guess what... I got that... and there wont be any deals done between us. You will learn that if you plan on sticking around... you better learn some customer service... cause right now... your following in the footsteps of two folks that you shouldnt be.

Let me guess... its never your fault.

In case you missed it the first time :shootfoot
