In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Info Just got this from SYR

I dont pay anymore than the industry standard with fedex... and the express vehicles are usually Vans... and the back is climate controlled. Wouldnt you want this for your animal vs a hot brown truck that doesnt even have AC for the driver? :shrug01:

Exactly! FedEx shippers are paying more the the quality of service they receive.

Haven't you all said before, "Quality isn't CHEAP?":reddevil:

Nope... Quality isnt cheap... and cheap isnt always best.

My UPS driver knows what I do... he has brought his kids to my house to see the animals. Everytime I get a package from someone that is shipped via SYR'
s... he cringes. He knows how hot it gets in his truck... he's like... why dont you have them ship it with (deleted drivers name) with FedEx. Both my UPS and FedEx drivers know each other... and they both know what I do.

Personally Id like the climate controlled truck for a little more $$ vs 100+* in the back of a UPS truck.

i currently do not sell but im guessing it will be a lot more expensive for a while. when i got 2 packages from them i was shocked my pastels where still alive due to the shape the boxes came in. both where almost crushed flat. the person who delivered them said he didnt know there was anything alive in the boxes. i was very happy with purchasing them but not satisfied with delivery. my delivery man was by first sight most likely stoned. he had no clue the boxes held live animals and i was very worried about the wellfair of my snakes apon arrival.

Oh yeah we sure are. The shipment we have going out in about 2 weeks is only $4 more through Fed Ex then SYR. So that isn't to bad with being certified.

I would gladly pay $4 for them to ride in a climate controlled van vs a hot UPS truck

How were they packed? A styrofoam lined double strength box shouldn't crush like that..... Unless an elephant stood on it.... maybe a pink elephant?

I read on another site how this happened:

Below is an image recovered from the UPS store in question that shows a man who walked in and asked "Can I ship these in an insulated envelope or do I need to use a box?"

Dang it Markus, that came outta nowhere!! I about choked on my coke!!

they were packed with ship your reptiles supplies but they were in horrible condition. i have no idea how they got almost crushed but if the people said they didnt know a live animals was in the boxes i wouldnt doubt it was handled rougher than it should have been

SYR doesn't do the packing. The person shipping is responsible for the packing, and if that person did not indicate clearly on the box that it contained live animals or that the contents were perishable, then it is down to that person. SYR has very detailed instructions on their web site about the proper way to pack and label. The box should at least be marked perishable.

I like the service. I followed instructions and the animals that I shipped or had shipped to me arrived before 10:30 am as promised every time, and I saved money. I will continue to use them. :)

I can't see this lasting too long as my understanding is that SYR is averaging around 2,000 packages a month right now, and it's not even baby season yet....

That's a lot of packages that are sent using a premium service. 2,000 packages at around 40 bucks a pop.... $80,000 worth of business they will be missing a month. They will be out over a million dollars in business this year that will go straight to FedEx. I'm sure once they get a chance to review the small amount of mishaps and the large amount of business on the line they will open it back up.
