    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Was collected locally by a young man who is a friend of the family. His family is on the fence about selling or allowing him to keep it. I am uncertain as to the monetary worth of the snake, so I am taking in offers. Anything that is interested please feel free to contact me. amazing garter snake anyone would be lucky to have such a beauty. i specialize in balls so i dont really have any use for it but it is quite a beauty
 
If genuinely found wild, it's definitely illegal. It's illegal to collect, own, sell, or even possess all native herps in Georgia. >_> Awesome snake, but quite illegal. Hate to be the one to rain on the parade, because that is a gorgeous snake, but we can't even keep corns here.
 
Why waste these genes. This snake probably would not make it in the wild it would be a shame if something ate him. I say you try to pass it onto somebody. Talk to scott felzer.

That's quite interesting considering that the OP stated that it was found LOCALLY. This word is usually considered to mean close to the person in question. Is there a new meaning of which I am unaware?:shrug01:

Ringgold, Georgia is quite close to the Alabama border, so the story is certainly plausible that it was caught and being kept there.
 
Maybe the young man who collected it lives in Alabama (a friend of the family of Chuck who lives in Georgia). Locally for the person who collected it would be Alabama then. :thumbsup:
 
Yeah, it's certainly plausible, Georgia shares a very long common border with Alabama. I'm just not familiar with Alabama collection/ownership laws, but I do know that if it was collected in Alabama and was brought into Georgia that it really does need to get back out of state before anybody potentially gets into trouble for an innocent mistake.
 
Ahh, whatever rocks anyone's boat. I certainly am not bucking for the position of the Ethics Police. I have enough to do making sure that I don't break any laws myself.
