• In case most of you have not noticed, I made changes to the donation amounts as well as the durations for all of the paid membership levels. Things are winding down here, and this seems to be the most prudent way to deal with the "end of life" period of this site.

Contributor level members - $10 per 30 days
    Sponsors - Eliminated
Benefactor level members - $25 per 30 days
Endowment level members - $50 per 30 days

On July 1, 2027, all paid memberships will be closed.

On August 1, 2027, FaunaClassifieds will be terminated.

Only change I expect that might take place is when I can get around to figuring out when the amount of money I would have to refund for the yearly paid memberships becomes less than the monthly expense of leasing my server, THAT date might be the termination date for the site.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Keeping crickets for weal or woe (particularly in small dwellings)?

I've been buying gutloaded crickets from a local pet shop that specializes in reptiles and exotics, and those Vitabug Crickets to Go from Petco if I'm skimping on time since there's one right by my job. I always dust all the crickets with Repashy just in case those little cubes aren't enough...

Best soap for pre and post amphibian handling?

So, with the imminent arrival of my toad...I know you're supposed to wash your hands before and after you handle them. This household entails frequently washing hands so I always have plenty of hand soap around. However, virtually all of my hand soap stockpile is anti-bacterial foaming with a...

Bufo japonicus illegal in the US?

Does anyone know this for certain? I never see them available for sale from breeders on websites or at expos in America though they are very popular pets in Japan from pet stores and wild-caught. I'd love to have one or two, I fell in love with this species watching AnemoneToadLife's videos on...

    Wanted American Toad

One Bufo Americanus, adult or older toadlet, wanted. Female preferred but will be happy to get a male. I'll also consider similar-sized toads like the southern toad, Fowler's Toad, and small marine toads. I'm in NYC and don't have a lot of space (I have a 24" x 18" x 12" tank) so bigger toads...

    Introductions...

Hello, I'm an accountant/computer game developer from the Bronx. I love frogs, toads, and lizards but toads are my ultimate favorite animal. I'm hoping to trade toad care tips, and meet other toad enthusiasts!
