In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Balancing sub-adult growth and weight loss?

I adopted my boy Tango, who is approaching two years old, about two months ago. He was being fed "1 to 2 adult mice" a week by his previous owner. I believe his sire was a big Okeetee. After researching and engaging in discussion online, I have determined that Tango is a bit on the chubby...

What species is this? / rescuers who take crocs?

My local rehabber (central PA) received this animal today; it is about one foot long. I know nothing about crocs and do not even know the species...crocodile? Caiman? Does anyone know of any resources / rescuers in state of PA (or nearby states that take crocodilians)? NOT seeking to rehome to...

    Snake recommendation?

I have a good friend who is considering a snake adoption, but I'm not sure what species to recommend. He has experience with handling (not owning) but is very competent with exotics. He would like a snake that is not common, but that is not aggressive or especially difficult to keep (e.g...

Starting a new BOI thread vs. adding to an old one?

Is it better to add (positive) feedback to an older, buried BOI thread, or start a new one? Dredging up old threads is generally a bad idea, but is the BOI the exception to prevent a hundred "mini-reviews" ?

Appropriate viv for an adult rat snake?

I am considering adopting a rat snake (black or leucy), and whether I adopt one as a juvenile or adult, I'm thinking ahead to the viv setup. My corn snake is currently in an Exo Terra 36" x 18" x 18" with UTH, which is great because this species is fairly terrestrial. I have noticed, however...

    Why are snake sheds clear?

This is a companion thread to my "book recommendation" question, because this is the type of information I'm interested in and can't necessarily find through Google. Someone asked me this week why snake skin sheds are clear, and my response was....uhhhhhhh. :uhh: Which is pretty embarrassing for...

    Recommended snake book?

Can anyone recommend a fairly comprehensive book about snakes? Not quite scientific journal / college textbook level, but more than just your typical "shedding is called ecdysis" and "snakes are ecothermic." So many out there, it's hard to know which to get. Thank you!

Greetings from PA! New herp owner.

No one really replies to these threads, but I thought I'd introduce myself anyway. :) Longtime herp admirer, new herp (snake) owner! I adopted (rescued) my sweet by Tango about a month ago and he has been my new best friend ever since. I'm also seeking a leucy Eastern rat but am finding them...

    Inquiry S&N Reptiles Inquiry

I was only able to find one short thread about one of the owners in my search. This company's website states that its proprietors are Jerry Slater, Steve Nincioni, and Frank Leon. Does anyone have any feedback for the business or its owners? Thank you.
