In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Anyone seen a lump like this before?

I've had Neffi for over two years. In the beginning, she seemed to hold her bowels for a long time. I took her to the vet and nothing seemed out of the ordinary on the x-ray and eventually she began using the bathroom fairly regularly. Flash forward two years and she has skipped her last 3...

    Pinworms in Snakes

I was researching various problems with feeding snakes live rodents when I came across pinworms. There seems to be conflicting information and I'm not sure what to believe. As far as I can tell, pinworms are quite species-specific (i.e. a human doesn't get the same type of pinworm their pet...

    Snake Rack Heating Help!

I recently built a 4 shelf melamine snake rack with the intent of only using the top shelf for now. The shelves are 18.5" deep and 24" wide. I house two tubs on the top shelf. I currently have a 6x23" Ultratherm UTH running under the bins in the back, but I am having problems with my cool...

    Has Anyone heard of CatX?

Here is part of the story: The “Categorical Exclusion” (CatX) proposed earlier this month by US Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) is the single most dangerous threat ever fielded against herpetoculture! If enacted, CatX would pave the way for FWS to easily add species to the Injurious Wildlife list...

Ball python fasting and gaining weight?

My ball python has been fasting since the early part of February. I'd guess he (I actually do not know the sex) is roughly 2 years old now. I did not have a scale in the beginning, but I got one in the middle of March. At that time, he weighed 785. From that point his weight fluctuated back...

    Changing to Rats

Is it safe to feed a 32 inch ball python a f/t small rat? There is quite a jump between a large mouse and a small rat with nothing in between. It seems like the small rat is about wide as the snake (1.5 inches) or slightly larger. Any help from someone with experience would be appreciated.

    Hydrofarm Thermostat Question

Does anyone know if the Hydrofarm MTPRTC thermostat is an on/off thermostat. I would like to plug my Helix proportional thermostat into it and use it as a backup in case the Helix fails (to shot off the Radiant heat panel completely at a certain temperature). Thanks!

Don't bother having a discussion on Wayne Pacelle's Facebook page. If you post links to studies contradicting a point pushed by HSUS, they will ban you.

I think we are really losing the snake battle.

I run a very nature related Facebook page and often post pictures of native animals asking if anyone can identify them. This is a way to help educate the public on our native fauna. I am quite amazed at the amount of hate comments we get to any reptile that is posted. This is strictly a...
