    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Finally, Pics of Poe's Litter

    Now that Poe's litter is almost three months old, I finally have them all photographed and organized and everything. Thought I'd share a few pictures with you guys. These aren't my holdbacks, just some nice pictures I thought you might enjoy. I'm extremely pleased with how things turned out this...

    Handful of updated 2016 baby pics

    Almost all of the babies that were born here this year have shed and eaten a few times now. A few don't seem too excited about frozen/thawed, so I'll try a few things and see how it goes. I took some pictures today of a handful of babies that are almost ready for me to put them up. All the ones...

    More baby snakes

    At about 3 this morning, Poe started to have her babies. In the end, there were 22 live babies and one slug. No stillborn. It's a little difficult to tell whether some of the babies are hypo or just have somewhat reduced saddles. I'm fairly certain there are 9 moonglows, 3 snows, 3 ghosts, and 7...

    First litter of 2016

    Right before I went to work last night, I checked on my expecting females one last time and saw this. She proved het. for Kahl. Four sunglows, one albino, five hypo and ten wild-type. Twenty live little babies, no external yolk sacks, no deformities or stillbirths, and two slugs. I still need...

    I said I wouldn't get any new boas

    I told my wife, Emily, that I wasn't going to pick up any new boas in 2015. I suppose I should have known by now that promises like that are a bit difficult for me to keep, heh. I didn't repeat what I did a couple years ago, when I went from two boas to 12, but I did pick up two. The first two...

    'Tis the season!

    Just wanted to wish everyone luck with their pairings this year. I'm pretty excited. In just a couple more days I'll be putting my males in with my females. Expanded a lot in the past couple years since I attempted any breeding. Up to 20 boas and sold all my other reptiles, lol. Five pairings...

    Good Guy Frank Martin - Amazing

    Recently purchased a new boa from Frank Martin. Pictures showed almost a complete, full-body jungle stripe. She has that, and way more color than the picture showed. She is absolutely one of my favorite boas of all time. I can't stop gushing. He shipped her the very next day after receiving...

    New girl, and what a looker!

    Just paid for a new boa from Frank Martin. She hasn't arrived yet, but I'm super excited and just had to show her. She's a hypo jungle possible het Kahl. Mom was a sugar pastel, Dad was an orangegasm super hypo jungle het Kahl. I'll be sure to post pictures of her once she arrives. :D

    Boaphile VS Boa Master xpvc stack?

    Hey guys, just a couple quick questions about caging. Some of my boas have outgrown their current enclosures, and I've been looking around for caging options. We've decided on the XPVC stackable cages, and there is something of a price difference between Boa Master and Boaphile. Just hoping to...

    Wasatch Reptile Expo - SLC Utah

    I'm not a promoter or in any way affiliated with the show. Just wanted to let people know about it. The Wasatch Reptile Expo will be held at the Utah State Fairpark, at 155 North 1000 West in Salt Lake City, Utah. It runs September 27th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and September 28th from 10:00 AM...

    Good Guy Kevin DeBusk - SmokyMountainReptiles.com

    Just purchased a 2012 female anery 66% possible het Kahl albino from Kevin DeBusk at SmokyMountainReptiles.com. He was patient while we had a few issues sending payment. She shipped the same day we paid. He delivered her to the FedEx terminal later at night, so she wouldn't be sitting in the...

    Babies After First Shed

    Sarah's litter finished their first shed cycle two days ago. Thought I'd post some pictures. I'm not terribly computer-savvy, so they're just going to be attachments. Because of that, it may take a few posts for me to get them all. Sorry about that. Some pretty ones, though admittedly I’m a...

    First litter of baby boas!

    Around 5 this morning, I discovered this in my snake room. The father is a hypo motley 66% het type 1 anery, and the mother is possible het for kahl albino. Unfortunately I didn't have a chance to prove out the mother, but hopefully in a week or so I'll be able to prove out the father. My first...

    Nesting Behavior

    So, attempting to breed this year has been fantastic. I've watched their courting and mating behaviors, sometimes sitting in my snake room with the lights low for long stretches of time. This is all new to me, and it's all fascinating. Now that the breeding is done and four of my females appear...

    When to pull a male?

    Hey everyone, So I'm attempting to breed this year, after ultimately deciding to wait last year. One pair of boas began courting/breeding almost immediately, and with impressive dedication. The female is VERY big compared to her usual girth, and I initially noticed swelling 24 days ago. She...
