• In case most of you have not noticed, I made changes to the donation amounts as well as the durations for all of the paid membership levels. Things are winding down here, and this seems to be the most prudent way to deal with the "end of life" period of this site.

    Contributor level members - $10 per 30 days
    Sponsors - Eliminated
    Benefactor level members - $25 per 30 days
    Endowment level members - $50 per 30 days

    On July 1, 2027, all paid memberships will be closed.

    On August 1, 2027, FaunaClassifieds will be terminated.

    Only change I expect that might take place is when I can get around to figuring out when the amount of money I would have to refund for the yearly paid memberships becomes less than the monthly expense of leasing my server, THAT date might be the termination date for the site.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Anybody from Europe know this person Martin Volk? I could not find anything about him online. He said he has breeding facilities in Dommershausen, Germany and Hilvarenbeek, Netherlands. His emails were perfect. I was prepared to wire him 50% deposit from USA to Germany for 1.1 captive born shinglebacks (tiliqua rugosa aspera) with Cites export permit and shipping . Even set the wire transfer up with Morgan Stanley. When I asked for a short video to see the actual animals or any references he said he only gives video or dated photos after receiving the deposit which was a few thousand dollars. Asked for anything to confirm this was real but I would just receive these really nicely written very detailed emails in perfect English from him. He said he would call. Then I offered to send him $400 right away if thats what it took just to send me a quick video of him and the actual animals. Then he said he didn't want to upset the animals and was no longer going to do the deal because of my lack of trust and he and his wife were now uncomfortable after holding the animals for me for a week despite numerous offers from other buyers.

I don’t know him, but I believe that the USA has shut down the importation of Australian animals, regardless if they are CB in Europe or not. Similar to how there any cyclura species in Europe that the USA will not allow to be imported. So I would be hesitant to purchase any Australian species without seeing and confirming any paperwork beforehand and confirming the legitimacy of the paperwork.

I know Martin Volk in Dommershausen, he is a local reptile breeder. I have met him on multiple occasions at the reptile hamm show in Germany. His Dad Dennis Volk was a top guy, a respectable and reliable individual who was highly recommended. But I don't actually remember them dealing internationally. I hope this helps.

Thankyou. USFWS said it was ok as long as there was proper cites export permit. I just couldn't find enough verifiable info to pull the trigger and send a big deposit without any videos of the animals or any references in Europe.
