hes not eating
I bought a Schneider skink a couple days ago and he refuses to eat. What should I do?

What are you trying to feed it?
What is it's cage temps? What kind of substrate are you using? |
Mealworms
90 Sand and aspen mix |
This type of skink requires a basking spot of 104-130.
I would ditch the aspen and use sand only. Try crickets If a lizard isn't warm enough, it will not eat. Adjust the temps and it should start eating. |
Hi there....if you Google it,several different forums and care sheets mention a temp. gradient of 80 -100, and also mention several inches of playsand to dig in. Several owners also mention that it is not unusual for them to have erratic eating patterns.....eating a few days, then not eating for a few days or a week, especially during times of stress such as when they are newly acquired. So that seems to be the norm, and you don't need to worry too much if the skink doesn't eat for a few days or so.
