Hey all i need some insight at whats going on with my 1420 gram male butter pastel.

He seems to have sores or scabs on his lower jaw (left side) and a less pronounced mark on his right side. Also they seem to be occuring also on three of his pits.

What is this? He hasnt fed since 2/9/15 and hasnt consistently eaten since 12/28/14. I always fed live. Paper towel sub. Good humidity and decent temps. No hot spikes or tub ever below 75. Homemade rack other 4 snakes have no issues at all eat every time unless in deep blue. He is currently at the bottom of the rack.

Also he has always been a picky eater (mouser) and was kept in a 40gal breeder before i built the rack. It had much less heat and humidity. Ever since i put him in the rack hes been even more difficult to feed. So im worried this isnt just rubbing sores and its effecting his diet.

I will be going to a vet regardless. But would seriously appreciate any knowledge on this.

The two brown spots are the effected areas from his left side. Iphone pics suck.

I have had that happen when they push at the corners of the rack, where the small gap is, trying to escape. I use an ARS rack.
I solved this by putting a doorstop under the tub to raise it up tight against the top of the rack.
I treated with silver sulfadiazine to prevent infection, and it healed up.

Normally it's only available with a prescription but http://www.mountainside-medical.com/ will sell it without one. It's good to have on hand anyway if you have reptiles, as it's better than Neosporin since it doesn't soften scales.

Thanks bcr229! Ill order it right away.
