Rosy Boa Rack
Hi,
I'm thinking about getting a few Rosy Boas in the future and was wondering how they do in racks. I'm worried the humidity may be too high for them in a rack. I'm in South Texas (Corpus Christi) and the humidity is always at least 50 percent probably higher in a rack. Any successfully keep Rosys in a rack in a high humidity area? Also what size rack would work the best? What kinds of racks work? Thanks in advance. Sent from my Moto G (5S) Plus using Tapatalk |
I keep rosies in a rack in a basement reptile room. I run a dehumidifier during the summer to keep ambient humidity below about 55%, ideally 50%. I use only a very small water bowl (about 3 oz, I think), and don't keep water in them always. Normal venting in the tubs.
I haven't measured humidity in the tubs, but since relative humidity is lower at higher temps, the humidity in the tubs may well be lower than ambient. I use 28 qt tubs and they work fine. If a person had a monster size female coastal, a V-70 size tub might be a nice upgrade, but not necessary for most rosies. |
