    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Here's a rare jewel

    I caught this yellow rat snake last night because my housemate wanted me to do something about it. I never would've known about it if he hadn't knocked on my door because I was in my room minding my own business and messing with my phone.

    Having trouble with snakes

    Here's the deal. My mom got me a female rat snake as a birthday present, and she escaped from a zipper snake carrier when I was gonna take her to the doctor. I then bought another one, and my housemate accused me of something I didn't do and turned it loose and wrecked the cage so he has to...

    Here's a movie I started watching about snakes.

    It's called Copperhead, and it takes place in the 19th century and is clearly meant to be some sort of western about deadly snake attacks. Now from what I've read and heard about those kinds of snakes that can kill a person on a good day for them, they're not the most deadly of the venomous...

    What would people do if a girlfriend or boyfriend felt threatened by a dangerous snak

    I'm not comfortable with the idea of killing a rattlesnake even though I wouldn't want to have one; but if you were with someone who you liked really well; and she wanted it dead, what would you do?

    Any chance they could go sci-fi with a six million dollar garter snake?

    I've been watching reruns of The Six Million Dollar Dude and intend to watch them until I've seen everyone. Some of the acting has left a lot to be desired like when Oscar gave Steve a present at the end of the episode A Bionic Christmas Carol and we didn't get to see what it was. Was it just...

    Snakes in the pilot episode of Superstition on the Syfy network

    I decided to just watch the first episode; and before I got to commercial, there were quite a few rare jewels. The writers and producers may have made them more dangerous than they were when that parson was quoting from Mark about how one of the signs of a believer is that they'll take them up...

    Question about snake bite scenes in Hollywood

    I watched an episode of The Incredible Hulk yesterday where there was a diamondback rattlesnake that bit David Banner, which of course resulted in him turning into the Hulk. Unless they had the snake defanged to film the snake bite scene, would they have likely had medics on the set to treat...

    Snakes on a Plane question

    I saw this movie for the first time on Syfy. I know some of the snakes were more harmless than the actors and producers led viewers, but it was still fun to watch, and the beauty of it is that it was one of those movies where no snakes were actually harmed. Plus, I'm no expert when it comes to...

    Crocodile and alligator question

    Do they ever make roaring or growling noises when attacking someone like the movies on Syfy have them doing? God bless, Jason Scott Irelan

    Are there not any breeders who can deal with snake pheromones?

    I know I've seen insect traps with sex attractants, so how come nobody can offer me any kind of sex attractant for snakes? I've moved from Edgewater, Florida, to Orange City; and I've heard there are garter snakes and yellow rat snakes. I've always thought yellow rat snakes looked cool in...

    spider bite question and help in identifying spider

    Are there any spider bite kits available like there are snake bite kits? The reason I'm asking is because our exterminator warned us about banana spiders that migrate from South America and are known to hide in bananas; and if you get bit by one, you've only got seven minutes to live. Also...

    snake pheromones

    Is it possible to get snake pheromones? I've asked pet stores if they have them and get told no. I'd like some black racer forum pheromones because I suck at snake hunting, and those seem to be the most commonly spotted snake in this part of Florida that's harmless. Can anyone help me out...
