    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Best season for first year female?

    I know that there have got to be some first year girls that have beaten the odds. I have one, just a year old, and she's working on her 6th clutch. So far out of the first 4 clutches I've gotten 3 hatchlings, two infertiles, and 3 fertile eggs still in the incubator, she just laid her 5th...

    Stripe X Aberrant = Normal Banding?

    I'm a little surprised by what I just found in the incubator. The second clutch from the same pair that the inside out hatchling came from, just produced a completely normal looking hatchling, not stripe, not jungle, not aberrant at all, perfect banding. I thought at least I would get some...

    What a difference a shed makes!

    This little angel was hatched 5/2 and just had his/her first shed. I didn't have too much of high hope for this one being a looker. Hatched out yellow and black not even a hint of being a tang. Well I guess I'm not judging anymore till they have at least one shed. :) This is what I found...

    New hatchling and updates on her sisters.

    Here's the newest addition to our growing family. She hatched last night (early morning) while I was in the chat room. I think I'm going to hang out in the chat room, all the time. Seems like they all want to hatch while I'm in there. :) Notice how fat her tail is, and she's only an hour...

    Incubating at 85 ?

    I'm incubating at 85 this year, to get a little bit of a mix, for the first time. Earlier I had a clutch hatch out at 45 days, I'm now at 46 days on this next clutch. However someone had mentioned in here, (can't find the thread) they were hatching them out at a constant 42 days at 85...

    Ginger is still eating almost all the time..... and not showing signs of slowing down. :hehe: She's now 5 months old and 62g, and 9" long. This is normally what I see when I peek in on her, day and night. The video starts off a little dark, but lightens up. Long download. Oh and the...

    At what age/size to sell.

    Since this will be my first year selling my babies, :( that is if I can part with any of them. I was wondering when is it safe to say they are strong enough to be sold and shipped. At this point I don't have any that I'll be selling, as the two I have are hold backs, but once I do have some...

    Perlite Incubation Question.

    OK, I just used the last of my vermiculite. Last week you guys all helped me find the deli cups and shipping boxes at all on one website, Thank You. Most of you said that vermiculite was not found as easy. I picked up some Perlite at Home Depot, since the local show isn't for another 6 days...

    Not a Sight I want to Ever see again.

    I'm posting this to show how bad fluctuations in temps during incbation is. So it may discourage people from building their own incubators when they don't know what they are doing, or constantly opening the incubator and candling their eggs, or anything else they may do to cause the temps to...

    Deli Cups, Vermiculite, Boxes, Heat/Cold Packs

    I just went to order some deli cups to find that in order to get all that I was going to order, I'm looking at having to buy from at least 3 different companies. I've done searches and all the ones that I did find before are not carrying all the stuff anymore. Does anyone know of one company...

    I picked this little girl (?) up today. I'm curious as what you would call her. Tthe yellow in her back is quiet pale. The picture is on the dark side, gloomy day, natural sunlight, no flash.

    Marcia, I was going to shoot you an e-mail and ask but I figured some others may have something like this happen, maybe not the same way, but if their power goes out or something. I had made a batch of your slurry. :) I put it in small cello cups. Well last night when I went down in the...

    Updates on my First of the Year.

    Oh these guys are so cute. I know it's only been 2.5 days since they hatched, but they had their first shed last night and I'm thinking I may have a SHTCTB out of one of them! I know I know, they will be changing so much that it may be the other way around. Either way they are both staying...

    Our Other Halves!

    Ok, I wanna know how many people here, have spouses or other halves that don't want anything to do with the geckos you keep, work with you with the geckos, they could care less, or say you need to down size. My hubby wants nothing to do with them, but is to the point that he understands that he...
