In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Burmese Python Care Sheet v. 2.0 - Thank you, Harald Moore and Fauna Classifieds!

This incorporates some suggestions made by Harald Moore regarding the legal status of Burms in many jurisdictions. While I suspect he might have worded the cautions more strongly than I did, I hope this addresses some of his (very valid) concerns. I've also mentioned the Board of Inquiry as a...

First Attempt at a Burmese Python Care Sheet v1.0

I'm going to continue working on this as I get time. To be added in the near future are a list of breeders and some suggestions for people who want a bigger snake but aren't up to keeping a Burm. (I was thinking Blood Pythons and possibly BCCs: while a big Suri can get up to 11-12', it's not...

    Downsizing the Collection

I've finally admitted it to myself: Balls are cute and morph collecting is fun, but I'm much more interested in large constrictors and White-Lipped Pythons. And here's a chance for you to profit from my moment of self-awareness. First, there's Hiroyuki. He's a very nice 1.0 albino, who's...

This meme has been making the rounds on various blogs: So I did a remixed version featuring Jailbait, my new 8-month old 0.1 White-Lipped Python:

    Indigo Snakes in New York

Does anybody know if it is legal to keep Eastern Indigos in New York? I was told by one source that Eastern Indigos are illegal in the state: I've heard from yet another that it is legal with a permit and said permit is fairly easy to get. The various New York state websites are not a whole lot...

    Any other Leiopython fans here?

I know that Harald has already been bitten by the White-Lipped Python bug (and has probably been bitten by his White-Lips quite a few times as well). Does anyone else here love those ill-tempered little beauties? I like a snake with some personality, and Oddjob (my male White-Lip) definitely...

My Male White-Lip is Still Looking for a Girlfriend

Oddjob needs to find the right lady -- an adult CB or LTC gold-phase White Lipped Python. (If you have a subadult that's fine: we're patient and if it's good enough for Jerry Lee Lewis then it's good enough for Oddjob). Matchmaker, matchmaker, make him a match... we're willing to be generous...

    Kierkegaard Eats!!! (Part Two)

After dragging a rat fuzzy around Mr. K's cage for a while, and getting a couple of feeding strikes followed by immediate releases, i figured we'd give it a rest for a bit. Kierkegaard slid beneath his water dish: we left the rat fuzzy very close by, along with a mouse pink just in case he...

    Wanted: adult female White-Lipped Pythons

(Since Oddjob has difficulty typing, I'm posting his personal ad for him). Hello: my name is Oddjob. I'm a single male White-Lipped Python residing in the New York area. My interests include f/t rats, soaking in my water dish, and biting random extremities. I'm drug and disease free (and...

    Decisions, Decisions, Decisions...

With much trepidation, I've decided to try my hand at keeping (and breeding) Ball Pythons. All the cool kids are doing it, and it doesn't require as much space as breeding Burms or Retics. So far I've got Hiroyuki, a 1.0 albino (around 200g). When the weather warms up I'm waiting on...

Pythons as Venomous Trainers: meet Oddjob

I'm currently using Oddjob as my training snake for hot protocols. He's a true joy to hook and tail: the loving look in his eyes as he lashes out toward my face always warms my heart. He might not be venomous, but by God he sure wishes that he were. Here are a few shots of our instructor at...

    Papuan Hatchling Feeding Issues (continued)

On December 24, 2006 Kierkegaard, my hatchling Papuan python, ate a live rat fuzzy. (More precisely, he slept beside it until it was dead, then decided to eat it as I was removing it from the cage). This was the first thing he had eaten since I acquired him on November 26, 2006: I also...

    Kierkegaard eats!

On 12/23 I gave him a live rat fuzzy, then left him alone. On the morning of 12/24 I came in to find Kierkegaard sleeping next to a now-deceased but still uneaten rat pup. Later that morning I saw no further activity: Kierkegaard appeared to have lost interest and was now exploring his cage. To...

The Case of the Perpetually Picky Papuan Python

At the last White Plains show (11/26) I picked up Kierkegaard, a hatchling Papuan Python (A. Papuana). He has yet to eat. If tease-fed, he will engage in some defensive strikes and has even thrown coils a couple times -- but he won't swallow the ferschlugginer thing. If the f/t item is left...

    Inquiry: Busty Ball Pythons (Florida)?

Has anybody here done business with Busty Ball Pythons of Deerfield Beach, Florida? It's run by somebody named "Dom" but that's all the information I can glean from the website and the Kingsnake ad.

    Hiroyuki ate!

A little more than a week after he arrived at Casa AP Economy Rack, my albino ball Hiroyuki ate two f/t hopper mice! (Yes, I know he could take bigger prey. I have a metric buttload of hoppers in my freezer; besides, I'd rather feed a couple of small items than one over-large and...

    Starting a collection

I've now purchased a 1.0 06 albino (Hiroyuki), and have quite a few more spaces in the soon-to-arrive rack. Now I'm trying to decide where to go from here. Some possibilities include: * A couple of 05 50% or 66% PH albino females; with luck they would be ready to breed about the time...

Now I've gone and done it...

An AP rack is on its way, and I've placed a deposit on a beautiful little 1.0 '06 albino from John Martino. After years of holding out, I'm going to try my hand at ball python morphs. Now all I need is a nice het albino 05 female, an female 05 spider and a breeder normal female and I should...

    Oddjob in a good mood

Sometimes Oddjob is as easy to handle as a Boa and sometimes he's an unholy terror. He was in a particularly good mood yesterday, so I took the opportunity to get a shot. It's not often Oddjob feels like playing "necklace;" he's usually more interested in playing "Body Piercer."
