• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Apalachicola National Forest, Franklin County Florida

Oh, btw, if you ever get a chance to hunt Hatteras Island in NC, the cottonmouths there are actually green. Rather attractive. For a cottonmouth, anyway.

Apalachicola National Forest, Franklin County Florida

Yeah, cottonmouths take advantage of the shrinking water holes concentrating fish in a smaller area making easy meals of them. It has been VERY dry here in Florida lately. Soon the cottonmouths will be on the move looking for water themselves.

    Pots calling the kettles "black"

That is what comes to mind whenever I see human beings complaining about other species intruding on their turf. Personally, what is not to like about insect eaters joining the locals in helping to get rid of those pests. And as for vegetarian lizards, sheesh, unless they are decimating Aunt...

Bent the tines on my excavator rake attachment

Needed to figure out an effective way to straighten two bent tines on the SHE27 excavator rake attachment. I decided to brace the rake against a sturdy tree and use the tractor to pull the tines straight. I didn't want to pull against the gear motor in the excavator and put unnecessary stress on...

Teaching Pim how to operate a tractor

Yeah... Never thought I would see the day when I would be driving a tractor and an excavator. Guess it looks good on my resume, though.

Interesting thing to have if you are subject to power outages

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09H6GGK55?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 I bought one of these kind of on a whim, thinking that with tropical storms sometimes knocking power out here, might be a good idea to have some means to charge up my phone if the outage becomes extended long enough for...

Teaching Pim how to operate a tractor

I figured it might come in handy having a pair of extra hands if I need her help. Not to mention that if for some reason I get myself into some sort of predicament with the tractor and cannot reach the controls, I might need her to help pull me out of a jam.

Playing with some of my toys...

Generated a YouTube video of the stump extraction saga of a few days ago. I started out digging around that pine tree stump with the excavator, but instead of the stump getting smaller the deeper I went, it got larger. I dug down as far as I could go, and then just went around it, pushing with...

    Viewing ads?

The only thing I saw as a potential snag was that unregistered/not logged in viewers could not view attachments to a post. Which would include photos. But they could see the thumbnails. This was done to limit bandwidth being wasted by search engine spiders and other bots that would download...

    Optimist club

Was looking through the local newspaper this morning and browsed the calendar of upcoming events. Noticed they have an Optimist Club here that meets twice a month. Thought maybe I should look into it, but on second thought I doubt I would qualify, and it would just be a blow to my ego to be...

How to become a paying member of FaunaClassifieds (revised edition)

Well, likely no one has read the above, or gives a crap anyway. Must have been some sort of glitch with Google Adsense on the 3rd and 4th of this month. Revenue is double now what it was those 2 days. No explanation why. Not that this is saying much. Still just barely enough to pay the server...

How to become a paying member of FaunaClassifieds (revised edition)

Well, was bound to happen. I am changing the price structure of the paid memberships and sponsorships. Going from a yearly payment plan to a month by month. Mostly because PayPal takes a chunk, and they chunk is bigger the smaller the amount, so the total YEARLY price will definitely be higher...
