    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.
  • In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Black Magic?

    I've had a lot going on and haven't been on the forums much lately. I did want to share this, though. I paired my mojave female with both my mojave male and my black satin black pastel male. She gave me five eggs and I allowed her to maternally incubate as I do with all of my clutches. I went...

    ? For those of you who have raised pieds

    I understand the color change can and does vary from snake to snake and I was wondering if you guys could post baby/juvenile and adult pics of your piebalds so I could get a better idea of what to expect from mine. I'm still waiting on the rest of the clutch to shed so I can get a better look...

    Got any candling photos of piebald in egg?

    I understand now what to look for while candling possible albino eggs now. They just glow pink while normal eggs are darker with discernible pattern. I've not seen any pics of a pied's pattern being candled, though, and hoped you guys could share some. I'll be candling my pied x het pied clutch...

    For Sale 2011 Mojaves

    These are from my allegedly het for burgundy female, Freckles, but until I can prove her out as such I'm not attaching an implication that any of these are carrying the gene. In the event that babies in this clutch actually are, however, I did want to mention it beforehand and get that out of...

    Good Guy Raul Campos - West Coast Jungle

    Raul Campos of West Coast Jungle was very easy to work with. He answered every email promptly and answered every question I had. He even called me this morning (which would have been really early for him) just after FedEx dropped off the package here. I wasn't near my phone so my voicemail...

    VPI Black Satin (my new guy)

    He's so cute! :) He seems really mellow and didn't puff, hiss or try to strike while I was unbagging him. I'm really happy with him and Raul Campos of West Coast Jungle was very easy to work with. Prompt emails and he answered every question I had. He even called me this morning (which would...

    Umbilical Cord Problem?

    I believe I may have a problem brewing with one of my eggs. I cut this egg after worrying about its size and a few water stains beginning to show up on the shell. This little one has been in its egg for a little over a day now and while adding some water to its egg I noticed that the cord seems...

    Clutch #2 :)

    She was paired with my mojave male and laid 6 eggs total. Her first year she gave me 5, then 4 last year. I'm glad to see the number has increased. :) She wants nothing at all to do with me and the camera. lol Can you tell? :reddevil:

    maternal incubation [again]

    This is the third year I've gone this route and the first of my 2011 clutches. This female, Freckles, was sold to me as a het burgundy so I'd like to try proving her out in the future. I've bred her to both a mojave and a pastel though I only saw locks with the mojave. She laid her eggs on March...

    I need some feedback please

    I just received this guy this morning but there's something wrong with him. He has a hard knot/bump on his back where the tail meets the body. I've never seen or dealt with anything like this before. Can I get your opinions on what would cause this? Would this adversely affect his ability to...

    I just purchased my first butter ball python from Desert Dweller yesterday. She arrived here this morning and I couldn't be happier. Maternal Incubation: Candling Video

    Last year was my first year breeding ball pythons and I allowed my female to maternally incubate. I thoroughly enjoyed watching her with her eggs and was pleased with a 100% hatch rate on Day 53 of incubation. This year, I've got two females maternally incubating and at least one other female...

    Clay Davenport -- GREAT GUY!!

    I was at the Raleigh, NC show over the weekend and met Clay just before the show was coming to an end on Saturday. He had beautiful balls on his table. All his animals were obviously healthy, clean, and plump. I saw several tables with very small babies that just didn't look their best (seemed...
