    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Project W is in effect!

    My fiance and I have a cornsnake named Wendell, which we bought last year from the NBHS Reptile Show. Until we could find an apartment, a friend of ours has been taking care of him for the past month and a half. Last night, we went to go get our snakey to bring him to our new apartment...

    Feeding then Handling

    Just thinking of something before we buy our first corn... How long after feeding do you start handling your cornsnake again? Do you put it back from your feeding container to it's enclosure and wait for a specific amount of time? Wait til it's done pooping or until the next day? Just curious :)

    NBHS Reptile Bazaar - Petaluma, CA

    I've been wondering when this show was going to be and I finally found the official date. I don't really see anyone advertising it and the vendor list looks a little shorter compared to the last one I went to in 2005... so I'm posting it here and I put it up in the FaunaClassifieds Calendar...

    Registering Business Name?

    Hi All, I was doing some research because I plan to extend my hobby and try out breeding for one season in the future (maybe within the next 2 years). Nothing large scale, just a small deal until I figure out if this is something I really want to pursue in the future. I've thought of the...

    After living in an apartment with "No Pets Allowed," I'm moving into a house and I'll be starting up my reptile collection again! I was previously a paid participant and I plan on becoming a contributor once I move at the end of this month. My question is: Is it possible to get my screen name...

    What Lizard is This? (PICS!!)

    Hi Everyone, I live in South San Francisco, CA (San Mateo County) and my uncle who lives a few blocks away found this lizard standing on his slippers in the garage. He picked it up and put it in a plastic jar for my little cousins to eyeball before he set it free, but I felt so bad for the...

    Some Crested Pics :)

    Here's some newer pictures of my new crested gecko, Apples. He's the little jittery one I've been talking about... hehe. I believe he's a buckskin and he's light brown during the night, sometimes his colors get so dark during the day that it seems almost dark-greenish. Funny colors :)...

    New Crestie Question - Handling

    Hi everyone, My boyfriend and I recently acquired a new crested gecko a couple weeks ago. The previous owner had him for about 10 months (the gecko is now 1 year old). The previous owner also informed me that the crested gecko was only handled once a month or so, so of course, he is pretty...

    Hi everyone - Sorry it's long, but I wanted to give some details that may help in solving the problem... The problem is: Runny / Wet Feces. I bought a 2 year old, male leopard gecko about 5 or 6 days ago. The seller gave me the 10gal tank, 1 hide, and dishes. I waited a couple days before...

    Help - Weird Feeders?

    I usually get my mealies, wax worms, and crickets from PetSmart and I've always had no problem with them. But... Yesterday, I bought more mealworms and waxworms! Now they seem different even though the same company is supplying them. Does anyone know the reason WHY they're different? None of...

    Switching from Crickets to Mealworms

    Hi everyone, I tried doing a search without much luck... so I decided to ask :hehe: My previous experience with leo feeding has always been with mealworms. But I'm getting a new leo tomorrow (YAY! I'm excited!) from someone in the neighborhood. This leo is about 2 or 3 years old and I was...

    Crested Morph?

    This is a picture of my 8 month old crested gecko. She was said to be a "probable male" when I purchased her as a juvenile back in October, but she's lacking a bulge. So I assume she is a female, but was told that she still could turn out male if I put another male in there and the bulge shows...

    Hi everyone :wavey: , I was wondering if crested geckos can have wax worms as a treat to add a variety to their diet?
