    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    For Sale 1.0 '17 Motley Sunglow

    Selling my '17 male motley sunglow (Kahl line). Asking $600 Not the calmest temperament for a boa, but he is usually tractable without too much fuss. Approximately 5' in length and should he ready to breed. I introduced him to a female last year and witnessed at least 2 locks within hours...

    The struggle is real...

    Well, as I hinted to in richardhind1972's thread the other day, I kinda made a deal on something new... or more accurately, a pair of new somethings. I was trying to wait, but I've seen these two for sale for months now and I talked the seller down to a price I was happy with. So the deal has...

    Oddly enough, this is my first...

    I took in a corn snake rescue on Sunday. As the title says, oddly enough this is the first one I've kept. I've been in this hobby for almost 13 years now, but I've never been all that interested in corns. She (by my best guess based on a couple tries at palpitating) came from a relative of a...

    Possible lavender (t+)??

    First time for me posting here in the Kingsnake section. This guy is technically my wife's (I'm more interested in boids), but I got him out yesterday to snap a couple pics. He was sold to us a het for albino (which I have no reason to doubt, since we picked him above 5 or 6 of his...

    Boa Imperator pics

    Well I figured I wouldn't stop with the rainbows and brought all my boas out, except my motley sunglow who I snapped a few pictures of the other day just after he last shed. First we'll start with my favorite to handle. This is Anna, my '16 hypo. She should be just about 5' right now and she...

    Epicrates pics

    Since it's a nice day here and it's been a while, I decided to snap a couple pictures of my rainbow boas a little while ago. First is my '14 Brazilian, Lucy. Unfortunately she is in shed at the moment, but she still looks amazing in the sun! She's grown a lot in the last year or so and is just...

    New addition! Meet Helios:

    Just received the latest addition to our little menagerie of a household, a motley sunglow I bought from xoboas through an ad here on fauna. He's a gorgeous little guy and of course photos do him no justice (do they ever??). Even after his ride up from southeastern VA he didn't seem at all...

    Good Guy xoboas (Jeff Ali/Jeffrey Alicea) good guy!

    Just wanted to take a moment to give a good review for Jeff Ali of xoboas. I took delivery of a beautiful male motley sunglow boa today from Jeff. His price was good, communication was great, and shipping was prompt (with a little help from mother nature of course, given it is february...)...

    Hatteras island 2015

    Just going through some old pics and found a few of some I found while staying in Buxton, NC a couple years ago on vacation. Enjoy! First is this King that I had to move from under our rental house. Brought it over to the Buxton Woods Reserve to release it away from the road and hopefully where...

    Blood gene question

    So my wife and I went to a reptile expo over the weekend and even though I was only intending to look at some caging offered by a vendor there, I ended up having one of the other vendors there offer me a deal on a pair of boas that were supposed to be het for plasma that I couldn't refuse...

    Fresh out of shed

    All 4 of my snakes have shed within the last week so I snapped a couple pics when doing some spot cleaning tonight. First off is my 2016 hypo BCI, Anna. This was actually her first shed for me. She measured at 27" using one of the measurer widgets. The camera on my phone doesn't do her colors...

    From the hills and hollars...

    Just a quick hello from the hills and hollars of WV. New member here, but not to the hobby. I'm a 2nd generation snake guy, as I like to say. My parents used to run a pet shop and my dad apparently had quite the reptile room at home before I came along. He's been out of it for a couple decades...
