1) How long have you been using Sani-Chips?
About 3 years.

2) For what species?
Ball pythons.

3) Any particular age group?
Everything from juvvies to adults.

4) Live feeders, or f/t?
I feed live, and FT.

5) Have you used it during breeding season?
Yes.

6) Have you experienced any problems as a direct result of this substrate?
Yes. Early on, I used to use it during breeding season. I ended up having to take a male to the vet for an infection in his vent, and given the material we dug out along with the pus, best we can figure is that while he was dragging things around he pulled some chips into the vent, where they irritated and abraded sensitive tissue. It sometimes sticks in crevices in mouths as well.

7) Positive comments?
It's easy to work with, holds humidity well for me, and contains liquids enough that the animals don't have to lie in their own waste. (Unless they want to - I do have some finger painters. )

8) Negative comments?
Have to check mouths and vents on occasion to make sure nothing is jammed in there, but mostly it's no problem.

9) If you have stopped using Sani-Chips, what are you using now?
I use paper for breeding, because of the vent issues.
