Angolan Pythons

Angolan Python interest seems to be growing significantly. The prices of the babies have increased, although to a much lesser extent than White Lipped Pythons, Madagascar ground boas, and black-headed pythons. This makes them a better value, and seems to be putting them on the radar of new collectors and breeders. Not many years ago, they were far outside of the financial realm for most hobbyists. Not any longer. I enjoy them much more than ball pythons, which they are all too frequently compared to. They are a little bit larger, much more inquisitive, just as gentle, and it just as easy to care for, perhaps easier. Breeding them is easy, and can be successful in virtually any climate as long as the humidity is not extremely high. You don't need particularly cold temperatures to cycle them for winter breeding. Tucson's winters (southern Arizona) are perfectly adequate. They are by far the most enjoyable and satisfying snake I have ever worked with.
