We have plethodontids in Wisconsin -- amazing little things. I live just a little south of the range of
Plethodon cinereus, but I've seen them up north -- curled up under logs, protecting eggs. It is hard to describe why they're more fascinating than
Ambystoma, but I think they are.
Neat animals -- you're lucky to have them right outside.
