One Time Shipment

Any advice for a one time shipment for a Braz. Rainbow from Phoenix to Providence RI? I do not want to set up my own Fed ex acct.

Do you have any herp societies close to you?
If so try them, you might find someone nice enough to ship for you.
Good luck.

You can contact US Airways. They accept cold blooded, non-venomous, animals and you do not need to go through any certification process. The cost would be approximately $100 plus the cost of whatever insurance you want. Also, they will only ship on their dedicated flights and not on any contract flights. This means it will need to be dropped off and picked up only at a major airport and flight options will be limited. Not cost effective for someone who regularly ships but for a 1 time shipment, it is an option. Just be sure to leave the package open at check-in for inspection.

Thanks guys. I will check it out, US airways might be a good option since I fly every week on them.

just got off the phone with US Air and they do not ship live animals in cargo anymore. They stopped Oct. 1, 2005. Any more options?

I just checked their site. It appears that they now only accept reptiles on international flights. Sorry.

Delta always used to ship reptiles in cargo, without any special requirements of the shipper. The biggest problem with Delta Cargo vs D-Dash is that sometimes packages get bumped, so you cannot guarantee arrival times. Of course, I have not used Cargo in several years, so this may no longer be the case.

Another option would be to locate a dealer, shop, or local breeder that might be willing to ship for you (with reimbursement for materials, of course)
