• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Saw an ad on another site for some female nuu ana leachianus geckos for 350 and thought that was kinda cheap for a sexable gecko. Has anyone had any dealings with them?
 
Purchased two unsexed gargoyle geckos from Chris Van Aken last year. He was very helpful and had all of the information requested on the gargoyles. Excellent shipping as well, geckos arrived healthy and are still doing great.

At the time I wasn't able to find any information on him at all, took a chance and it worked out!
 
I would seriously recommend asking for detailed shipping information. I got 1.3 CB U. sikorae from him last year, and all were shipped together in a 1-2 gallon jug with a small ball of moist paper towel in the bottom. There was no styrofoam box, and the carboard box was bulging because the jug inside was too big. I lost the male shortly after recieving them and the response that I got was "I lost a baby n. wheeleri from you, too".
 
i recently purchased (arrived today) some leaf tail geckos from Chris Van Aken (www.chrisvanaken.com) and spent quite alot of $$ with him (2.2 CB uroplatus fimbriatus, 1.1 CB uroplatus ebenaui, 1.1 CB uroplatus henkeli). i ended up being out of town a little longer than expected do had him delay the shipment one day for me. he seemed to have a pretty good reputation and nice leaf tail stock so i really didn't hassel him much on his CB leaf tails (which i should have)

1) once i had shipment delayed an extra day he pulled 1.1 fimb and refunded me stating that the female didn't look to be in great shape.
2) packaged arrived on schedule with no heat pack in the box -- COLD --
3) male henkeli looks to be on the dehydrated side -- female for sure is and has trouble climbing glass (symptom of dehydration)
4) 2 pairs were infested with red mites (ebenaui and henkeli)

i took pics and emailed Chris Van Aken this:
"got the shipment in today and well...........

AFAIK the Ebenaui and Henkeli were CB? if so why do they both have mites? the male eban doesn't seem to have any on him but the felame is loaded... attached a pic where 2 large and 2 small are visible. the male henkel i'd get pics but the mites are between the tow pads/grippy shit and he's quite a squirmer.

the fimbs didn't seem to have any mites and we went over them pretty thoroughly but not to say they won't have any sometime in the future being shipped with others with mites...."

his response was:
"Well crap, I'm going to look through my collection to make sure all my things aren't infested. I didnt even look for them since they are healthy. That would be horrible. Keep me posted on how they do. Do you know how to treat them? If not, I can help. Thanks!"
