Dear Alex and other turtle friends on FAUNA -
I just wanted to remind everyone that P. tecta, the tent turtle, is an Endangered Species and so cannot legally be sold or traded across state lines. If this species crosses state lines in a commercial transaction (sold or traded) it is a Lacey Act violation which is a felony.
If both parties have a federal CBW permit, then the transaction can occur.
Fish and wildlife agencies are watching!
Be careful - Keep the ESA list of protected species handy.
