Either they agree with the concept of the victims recuperating their losses or they don't. If they don't agree then ask for the return of the funds etc. now. If they do then let the victims work it out without being under the threat of having the funds withdrawn later, if the contributer doesn't like the outcome.
To me this also opens the door for more fund raisers and/or donations later when a project is decided upon.
Kevin, I think it's only right to ask permission of the contributors to use the money they doanted to do something other than what they originally donated it for. That's what we are trying to do, is get permission NOW, before starting anything, so that there will be no future "withdrawal" of the funds. I can't say that all of those who donated are still following this thread, and just don't think a blanket statement HERE of "Tell me now if you don't want your money used in this manner" would be adequate.
And Bill, I think it was you that mentioned a dollar figure a few posts back. Just so everyone knows, JUST with the list I have with all of the amounts people paid for their "hets", the figure adds up to over $23,000. I have names of a few more folks that could be added to that list, but do not yet have specific dollar amounts.......I believe the amounts from the people who sent money and received nothing was well over the $20,000 mark as well, but I don't have that list handy yet.......
