The earless monitor is probably my favorite reptile! They are the only lizards related to the varanids (monitors) and the helodermatids (beaded lizards). I'd love to own one but they are EXTREMELY rare and are under threat to become extinct

18. Tuatara - not actually a lizard, but rather part of the Order:Rhynchocephalia
19. Brown Leaf Chameleon (Brookesia Superciliaris)
20. Blanford's rock agama (Psammophilus blanfordanus)

21. Burton’s legless lizard (Lialis burtonis) - Australian, almost exclusive lizard eater and wide variety of colors.
22. Green Thornytail Iguana (Uracentron azureum) - I want one of these!
23. Eastern sandfish (Scincus mitranus)
24. Galapagos land iguana (Conolophus subcristatus) - I was aware of the marine iguana, but not the land version.

28. Minor’s chameleon (Furcifer minor) - I've seen tons of gorgeous chameleons before, but never this pattern arrangement. This is female instead of a male too.

Minors chameleon i think is now on the top of my want list, only second to the earless monitor.

Wonderful list, Robert! I am familiar with quite a few, but love learning about the others I know nothing about. The female Minor's pictured, by the way, is gravid. Female Minor's are more colorful than the males, but only look that astonishing when gravid.

I guess if they only look that awesome when they are gravid, you don't have to wonder if she is or not.

29. Sagalla caecilian (Boulengerula niedeni) - this not a burrowing snake or legless lizard, this is an amphibian.
30. Chinese Giant Salamander (Andrias davidianus) - largest living species of amphibian, reaching a maximum length of 1.8 metres
31. Schistometopum thomense, referred to as the cobra bobo, or yellow snake, by the locals of São Tomé Island in the Gulf of Guinea.
