Please note that the information requested during registration will be used to determine your legitimacy as a participant of this site. As such, any information you provide that is determined to be false, inaccurate, misleading, or highly suspicious will result in your registration being rejected. This is designed to try to discourage as much as possible those spammers and scammers that tend to plague sites of this nature, to the detriment of all the legitimate members trying to enjoy the features this site provides for them.
Of particular importance is the REQUIREMENT that you provide your REAL full name upon registering. Sorry, but this is not like other sites where anonymity is more the rule.
Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.
General BS forumI guess anything is fair game in here. Just watch the subject matter doesn't get carried away too much.
do you mean first album I bought myself or first album I had? Because I first listened to all my mom's 45s and she bought me 45s from Seasame Street. First LP I bought is a tough one, it's one of these 3: Soundtrack to Breakin 2 Electric Boogaloo, Soundtrack to Transformers the Movie, or Cyndi Lauper She's so Unusual. Although I also have the Chipmunks Greatest Hits, that might have been before C. Lauper. lol Shoot, I'm going to have to go dig them up and check the years...
I love my records and tapes and CDs, I just don't get all this burned music, I mean, I do, but I love having liner notes, lyrics, pictures and the physical disc.

Either or its just nice to think back to when you were young and what kinda music Influenzed us!
My first tape was a tie since I got them both for christmas... they were
Weird Al Yankovic - Fat
DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - He's the DJ, I'm the Rapper
My sister got me that Fresh Prince tape for Christmas when it came out. lol
We had a bunch of childrens records like Shirley Temple songs before I was in kindergarten. My mom also got us the Nutcracker "soundtrack". The first record I picked out was "She's So Unusual" by Cyndi Lauper.
I didn't really hear much funk music until I was in high school and found it on the radio late at night on some retro show. I do remember my best friend's mom teaching us how to dance to "Funky Town" when we were in grade school! My Dad had days worth of 50's and 60's music he used to play all the time so I heard a lot of that stuff.
Hey, did anybody's parents ever get you that Captain (Zoom?) wobbly plastic record that played him singing some corny space version of Happy Birthday with your name in it? lol
Living easy, living free
Season ticket on a one-way ride
Asking nothing, leave me be
Taking everything in my stride
Don't need reason, don't need rhyme
Ain't nothing I would rather do
Going down, party time
My friends are gonna be there too
I'm on the highway to hell
No stop signs, speed limit
Nobody's gonna slow me down
Like a wheel, gonna spin it
Nobody's gonna mess me round
Hey Satan, payin' my dues
Playing in a rocking band
Hey Momma, look at me
I'm on my way to the promised land
I'm on the highway to hell
(Don't stop me)
And I'm going down, all the way down
I'm on the highway to hell
There will always be bumps in the road no matter how well maintained. And no matter how many you swerve to avoid you're bound to hit one or two. Spin outs and rollovers are best to avoid but sometimes you will crash and burn. Sometimes taking a different road is the best course to get to your destination.
This coming from a guy who has had a number of trips.
