Yep, this. Water is all you need. Depending on how much and how often you use oil-based stuff, it can actually damage the scales more. (This is from both my vet and my personal experience.)
I would recommend a humid hide like some have mentioned instead of misting. You don't want the entire tank's humidity to be too high; you just want the snake to have a humid place to go to if he needs it.
