That's a good point. I wonder how old he really is.
He had said he only feeds f/t (and that is what I fed this boa) but it sure doesn't look like that. It looks like he threw a live rat in with the snake.

It's actually more than one wound. I circled the damaged areas of this snakes neck. Those wounds are from a live feeding gone horribly wrong.

yes, very similar to the damage done to one of my boas back in the 90s when she coiled the rat, it was chomping on her neck as she was constricting. It wasn't as bad as that, but similar marks and more than one.

Finally he admits I did not send it to him like that.
But he still insists it was not caused by a rat and still no vet visit planned.

Heaven forbid someone take an animal to a vet. I know, I'll go ask on the forum and hope I get sound medical advice. I always wonder if they let their human children suffer when they're sick, too.

Could have been caused trying to get out of an enclosure with an ill-fitting door/lid. Or who knows. At least he's no longer hinting around that it was shipped like that, and you've got screenshots for if he does try it again.

I think it is a bite wound. If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck.......
I think Moo is right, too. He put up the pic and he can't lay it on you Steve; all of a sudden he hears his post is getting around and of course he is going to deny poor husbandry.
Maybe the Easter Bunny did it.

Yeah, rabbits CAN give a pretty nasty bite...

Now he has some room mate posting on the thread at KS saying he never made it sound like it arrived that way and the people on the forum are no help.
GET THE SNAKE TO A VET!
My vet is an hour each way and I work a lot but I still make sure I get to the vet if I need to.
Man I regret this sale. That poor snake.

This must be heart breaking spj. I honestly think finding something like this out must be the biggest drag to breeding.
