I think this is one of those decisions that is internal, I do not think that forcefully debating the issue will change anyone's mind. Certainly you will never change anyone by insisting they are wrong.

I am always interested to hear about what people feel and the choices they make. Ideas can be offered and accepted, and cannot be forced.

So now your calling me a girl?

Well I'm happy for you, that's your opinion once again....

Like I stated before, I don't care what people do with their own choices, I just care about mine.

It's like when a guy must state several times while puffing out his chest, that he eats meat blah blah blah, he must believe he's manly...

Pointless topic?

Aren't you the one that felt the need to post on this thread?

That we do not all agree doesn't make this pointless. I can almost guarantee that we all will come across people with dietary differences and opinions during our life, and perhaps they will be people close to us.

It's good to be respectful of the differences of others and they may do the same for you.

I think people would eat more veggies if they took the time to learn how to cook them, more than just defrosting and boiling a bag of frozen from the store.
I agree, you can add a lot of life to vegetables ( no pun) with more effort then conventionally putting them on a plate.

I'm not fully vegetarian, but I like the approach to use meat as a condiment rather than the main focus - so I'll basically cook a dish as though it was vegetarian, but then add a small amount of fish or meat, usually in little pieces over the veggies. I'll also have phases where I won't bother with the meat at all.

I feel much more energised when I'm eating a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables than I do when I've been pigging out on meat. Meat makes me slow. I also never eat meats I consider particularly cruel - such as veal (calves kept in tiny boxes in the dark) or Pate de Foie Gras (Pate of geese forcefed until their liver pratically explodes), but I am afraid that I am prepared to look the other way for pigs, chickens and cows....

If I lived somewhere with a really good variety of fresh veg like you guys in the Real World, I think I'd eat less and less meat - but then probably go out and have a nice rare steak once every few weeks!

On a more serious note - Not why I chose to cut back on meat, but my father has just been diagnosed with stomach cancer, and if you look at the risk factors for that, you might well give excessive meat eating a rethink - it's a truly horrible disease.

Your sarcasm is pretty clear Wes. The only thing ridiculous is your ignorance and stupidity...

Using meat as a condiment isn't heard of.
Meat was used as an appetizer and not an actual meal for centuries, even back in the 1800s.

Sorry about your Dad Helen
