When dealing with PayPal, getting a refund for any animal purchase is a bit of a crapshoot. If you're lucky enough to have paid with a credit card or a withdrawal from your bank account, you may still be in luck. As long as you didn't pay with money that you happened to have laying in your PayPal account, there's often a degree of recourse. How exactly was the purchase funded?

If/when the seller makes it clear that they don't intend to make you whole, you can always take it to the BOI. It may not help you got your money back, but it'll help others who may consider buying from this person. If you decide to go that route, include all of the evidence that you have: screenshot of the ad, any text/email conversations, pictures of what you received, etc. Just be aware that, since you can't undeniably prove that you received what you claim, there's enough doubt for the seller to try to exploit. For future reference, get in the habit of documenting everything. Even a crummy cell phone video can make a big difference.
