Fauna Tips & Tricks

I think it might be both fun and educational to start a thread where everyone can post any tips and tricks they have discovered within Fauna. Some of these may be second nature to some members, but there will inevitably be someone who can benefit from these postings.

I’ll start off with a couple of easy ones.

“New Posts” tab
This tab is located on the secondary menu down from the top of any page. Clicking on this will give you a listing of all the new posts (up to 100) since your last visit. This is a quick way to see what’s going on without manually searching through all of the forums.

“Display Modes”
Located at the top of every page in any thread, this drop-down menu allows you to select the manner in which the thread is displayed.

Linear: (the default mode) Posts are displayed in chronological order.

Hybrid: Displays a chronological index in a separate window. This is very handy for finding a specific post in a large thread.

Threaded: Similar to the Hybrid option, but also breaks down the post into a threaded view.

Let's see what everyone else can add.

Thanks,

Use of Quotes:

To use a quote from someone else in your post; you simply hit the "Quote" button located in the lower right hand corner of that person's reply. If parts of the statement are not needed, you can simply delete the parts you don't want to use. Just make sure the end of the quote ends with
and the beginning of the quote starts with
