Breeding Guyana and Surinam boas together.

I am wondering what your thoughts are about this. On one hand, they are both bcc's and they are bordering countries. They must breed together naturally. Do you think that they are basically the same boa with their only difference being their locale?

Personally I don't see the need to breed them together, but I don't think it's an awful thing either. The only real problem that I see with it is that somewhere down the breeding line someone is going to pass them off as one or the other and the locale will not be true.

Your thoughts?

Here are my thoughts. I have two Suriname Boas that would be considered Guyana Boas. I also have three Suriname Boas that look just as they should. So having the two I know the differences well. I personally believe it is nothing more then a border issue with them.

Similar to the Pastel BCI, the colors and patterns can be picked out for breeding purposes, if I want more lavender in the body, parallel lines connecting the saddles, long widow peaks, no widow peaks, silver body, brown tails, or red tails.

I have heard of both patterns(Guyana and Suriname) coming from a Suriname X Suriname breeding. Even from a Guyana X Guyana breeding both patterns have emerged. In the wild it seems that many carry the genes for both patterns.

Personally, I am going to keep my breedings together as far as paterns goes. I love both patterns for their natural look, so I really do not want to mix them up. I really do not think there would be much of a difference between the two patterns from breeding the two together. It does not bother me much if someone else breeds them together.
