Colombian vs Columbian Boas

I hope that everyone will take this in the spirit with which it is intended.

I am forever seeing ads and forum posts regarding Columbian boas.
Just to set the record straight, there is no such thing as a Columbian boa.

Columbia with a U is a city in South Carolina in the United States and to the best of my knowledge, there are no indigenous boas there.

On the other hand, Colombia with an O is a country in South America which is the origin of many of the commonly kept boas in the United States today.

This is a very common mistake, one of which I am guilty of myself. Someone was kind enough to point out the error to me several years ago and I am now hoping to return the favor by passing it on.

Thanks,

OH CRAP!
Now you tell me. I spent 6 weeks in South Carolina last year looking for redtails. No wonder I didn't find any

Mark,
It's just like those people in Colombia looking for Cal Kings in Cali.
One little letter and you miss the boat.

Thanks for the chuckle, of course now I have to clean my drink off of the computer screen.

Geeze, even I knew that. Of course, it took a couple fingers pokes to get me to correct my spelling. LOL

I think there might be a benefit from having another pass through the "new post" filter.

Lets keep it going...

Is it Surinam or Suriname?
Hog or Hogg?
Guyanan or Guyanese?

And what the heck is a C.A. redtail boa?

The classifieds crack me up.
