KS is at it again - deleting posts

I posted on the boa forum along with 1/2 dozen other people. We all had are posts removed. No reasoning, just POOF, they're gone. No one broke any TOS, we were just ahving a discussion (a civil one for a change on a KS forum ) and the mods just deleted the whole thing.

This is why I post there only once in a great while. It seems that everytime I write something there, it gets deleted.

Too much censorship over there. I foundout how really bad it was a while back when I used BOI and the word fauna over there. They automatically censor those words and pull your post.

I call them www.kingscam.com, but they are pretty paranoid. I like it here a lot better!

If the thread is the one I am thinking of then it's possible to understand why they dumped it. It's pretty easy to figure out that the mods there don't like people trash talking people/businesses who post ads on the classified forums - naming names or companies, etc. (breaks the rules). Now, I have seen posts that have talked about ads that are over on the classified forums in general terms (no names, etc.) and those usually do stay up mostly unless they were worded in such a roundabout way that you can still pretty much figure out which ad people are actually talking about bringing the matter back full circle to a point of it breaks the rules of bad mouthing people/businesses. I always find it easier to avoid mentioning anything in a post like "did you see that ad on the classified forums" type comments when wanting to discuss something in "general" like pricing practices or trends or naming conventions. Even if the original intent wasn't meant to bash anyone or anything if a post can be tracked back to an ad on the classified forum where there is a name or business attached the apparently have enough reason to pull it. Things like that don't get pulled if you don't give a mod any rope to play with for pulling it.

Censorship

I used to be an avid reader of the Boa Forum on Kingsnake and have maintained a classified account there for several years.

The censorship is rediculous and the last post i made there (deleted of course) was about that precise topic. I no longer even bother visiting the site and when my account lapses in August - it will NOT be renewed.

I've allocated the rediculous classified ad fees from Kingsnake to more worthy pursuits on Fauna. This is a far better site and I don't think it will take long for the masses to migrate here.

There will come a day when Kingsnake stands in the shadow of Fauna!

My post and the posts of the other people that were removed HAD NO MENTION of classifieds or anything negative about ANYONE.
It was a post about husbandry and temperament.

You never know WHAT will cause them to delete posts.

Maybe they got upset because when my classified account account expired before Christmas, I never renewed it.

I myself was a big time KSer for several years, up until two years ago, when I took a "sabbatical" if you will, to get away from my online addiction (no not porn , just being on the internet to much) when I returned, I was once again hanging out here and there, till I started seeing all the threads like this one, and realized how bad it had gotten over there. I know longer go there, even to look at classifieds.

The irony of this thread popping up at the same time as all the other threads about charging a fee, kills me. I mean a lot of posters are saying "other" sites are free, we'll all just go there. Well, this is what you get at those other sites. Censorship and forums where nothing is going on but tons of photos being posted by people (mostly advertisers) who are very careful not to put anything in the thread that can be construed as advertising, yet everyone knows who they are.

Off Topic

John,
Just curious - what does your sig line refer to?
Is there a thread where the evil were defended by the good?

I could be mistaken but I think he is referring to the Tom Crutchfield post.

That's part of it, there is also several other threads where those same kind of problems are being "condoned" by virtue of comments made that diffuse, or divert, or excuse the bad conduct.
