And it continues...

It seems my streak of luck is only getting better....hah.

Among many other things that I haven't griped about here, now we have a bunch of new "landscaping" to do....last weekend, our septic tank started backing up into our basement. We we hoping to be able to just pump it out and be done with it, but of course not....we have to put in a whole new septic system. Right now, we're sitting with a 10 foot deep hole in our front yard (at least we can use the water again for the time being)....but we are going to have to remove this one, put in a new one, run a new leach line across the yard and stuff. Have to have another huge tree cut down (even larger than the one that fell recently) and removed, as well as digging up our sidewalk, across our driveway, and all in all creating a huge, ungodly muddy mess.....not to mention the "roughly" 7 grand it's going to cost.....and that doesn't include repairing/replacing the concrete stuff, tree removal, new sod, etc.

Here's our first portion of our new "landscaping"....we constructed this lovely fence to keep the critters from falling in...

If a tree falls in the woods....

So we got the big tree down, and holy cow, it shook the whole house when the main part fell....the cleanup is going to be an all-day thing, have to get it all cleared up before the septic guy comes back tomorrow and starts making mud.

My job for the day is cleaning and bleaching and cleaning the basement floor, and rearranging everything down there to get it ready to remove the toilet, and make new holes in the wall for the pipes and such. Not to mention trying to get rid of the giant fart smell down there.

My goodness, talk about a crappy day Sorry, I couldn't resist.

It could be worse though, Bry's dad ripped out the pipes to the main line of the house on Christmas day! And of course, Bryon had to fix it....in the rain.

LOL, I understand....there has been a steady stream (heh) of "poop jokes" running (heh heh) through the household for the last few days...

We're STILL sitting with nothing but a big smelly hole in the yard....the septic guy has had 2 other "emergency calls" since being here. We've had to use a sump pump and hose to prevent it from backing up into the basement again (yes, putting the sump pump directly down into the tank, EW)....so apparently since we have managed that, we're no longer an emergency. Unfortunately, we're forecast to have HEAVY rains today into tonight, and we may be in a world of poo if that happens. It hasn't rained much yet, but it's almost full to the top again already.... And that's with us using almost no water. I've washes dishes ONCE in the last week, and done 2 loads of laundry....that kind of thing. I'm sure you know how many dishes and how much laundry a family with two teenagers goes thru in just over a weeks time, so you can imagine what a mess we're in with that kind of stuff besides everything else.....not to mention I haven't been able to spend enough time in the shower to shave my legs in over a week.
