Well, this past week I lost my second heater of the season. I was going to bed when the temperature of the reptile room (in my night table) sound the alarm. The temperatures was below what I had set as critical. Lucky me WalMart was open. So I ended up driving there, purchasing another one and setting up and went to bed at 2 am. Yes, it's getting OLD!

Don't despair, you'll be out from under the ice & back to stuck in the muck soon. The problem is that being in the middle of the country, it takes longer for global warming to reach you (kinda like the middle of that thick steak still being raw).

I finally ventured out into the world this past week - and I seem to have an accumulation of snow/ice at the end of my driveway. Keeps the riffraff out

I planted a key lime tree this afternoon in my backyard and my shoulders are stinging from the sun. I may just have to put on a little cold aloe gel and chuck down a few Cornona's to numb the pain.

Life's a beach.

Just thought I'd share some of my joy with you all....

Here, my family thought for some reason it would be fun to stand out in the middle of the highway that runs past our house, and make me take pictures of them to send to all of our friends and family in warm climates. Josh, in the blinding orange, is standing on the edge of the road, Lynn is standing about in the middle. This was Sunday night.

And yep.....there's the mailbox. Only miraculously, it wasn't the snowplow that did it, it was the second car to go in our ditch that night that took it out. Our mailbox is actually in better shape than the car ended up.

And this is Monday morning, looking down the road from our place. Not sure when this car went in, this was the third one of the night, and they didn't come up to our door. One thing to note, this ditch is normally VERY steep, the kind you can't mow or will either tip over the rider or get killed running yourself over trying to push the mower. It's pretty full of snow.

And last but not least....this was yesterday morning, the thermometer in my truck. Not going down the road, just sitting sheltered right in front of the garage. That just ain't right.

If they put me in handcuffs to drag me up there, I would chew off my own arms to escape.........

YAAAAAAY!!!! The mailbox wins one for a change!! ummm....errr...wins? I'd accept it if the mailbox would sheepishly grin & say "you should see what I did to the guy that hit me"

Rich, if I were there, too, and hadn't managed to roll out of whatever moving vehicle we were in, just force your foot against my throat for leverage while you are chewing. I'd greatly appreciate it

Its going to be a scorcher here tomorrow. 88 degrees...in the shade of a palm tree...with a slight chance of an afternoon shower.

I sure my hammock doesn't get wet.
