Mountain Horned Dragon 2 mos compared to new hatchling

This is a picture of Crash (orange) and Pink. Crash hatched Memorial Day Weekend and is 2 months and 2 days old in this picture. Pink hatched the day the picture was taken. Crash weighs 2.2 grams in this picture and weighed 1.0 gm when hatched. Pink weighs 1.5 grams.

10 wks vs 10 days....bat pattern on head...getting horns

Here are a few pics that I shot today....the one with the pink mark is from the 2nd clutch and is about 10 days old...the other is from the 1st clutch and is about 10 weeks. The 10 wk is pissed so he’s black but check out the orange and green colors still visible....also...how about the bat head markings?

WOW

Hello Angie,

Oh wow, they are so pretty! I definitely want one some time. I didn't realize how pretty they actually were. Most of the pics I have seen of Mountain Horned dragons have been ones that were very ill, & not doing well. Most likely culprits of being wild caught & being sold in the petstore to some poor unknowing soul who takes them in.
I read in your other thread where your goals were to try & help cut down on the amount of wild caught ones. I think that is awesome. They just don't have a very good chance most of the time. You are doing a great job.
Thanks for posting the new pics. They look like they are all doing so well now.

11 weeks and 2-2+ week comparisons

Here are all the babies together….I weighed everyone and put them all together so I could look at the size difference. Jeff and I think that the 11 week old babies had a huge growth spurt this past week. Of course, you knew I took pictures….

There are 15 but only 12 made it in this picture…

More group shots…

Bendy 11 wks old (yellow color 2.6 grams) vs Pokey 2 wks old (orange on back 1.5 grams)

Another pic of Pokey – he’s really small…

Pokey and Crash – 11 wks (orange color – very first MHD of mine to hatch)

Big Pink (2 wk +) vs 11 week old

Purple People Eater (2 wks+) vs Crash

Jeeze…think I’ll quit doing this when I have more than two clutches?

;-) Angie

May I ask what you use to mark your dragons? I would like to do the same for crested geckoes. Thanks.

I'm not selling any of these, they are for my CBB breeding program but if you want to PM your email address to me I'll pass it along to a friend that still has some CB babies.
