I have to say,i jumped into boa's but after a year of reading. The only reptile experience i had was with bearded dragons for several years.I had the will, the internet and the funds to do so.Plus as with Mariah,i was not allowed to have reptiles as a kid. Then i ended up married with hardly any money and 3 kids. Then at 39 i got my 1st German Giant bearded dragons and thats what started it all. 20 adult beardies later,i decide it was time to get what i really wanted, boa's ! Now only 4 years later i have many, and growing. All my boa's are thriving, even a tiny runt that was smaller then a corn snake baby. And i have no experience with helping a baby boa that had a full egg sack, bulging head and dinky. If it were not for this site and the people i have met from here helping, the guy might not have made it
I think if someone has the will and can learn from others,it can be done.Even some of the harder species. But as we all know,$$ has to be factored in for proper care.
Instead of beating her up over her decision, how about we offer her knowledge so the choice she makes doesn't die. All beating her up does is make her want to stay away from sites like this, and what will that do?
I personally have learned a lot from people on here and owe many thanks. So if you want to beat her up over HER choice, move on maybe. We need to inform her, offer good opinions and maybe walk her through it all so the reptile she chooses does well and doesn't have to suffer because she got ripped apart from uncaring people?
