Also your TRUE location is important. If the location you enter in your profile field does not match the location of your registration IP address, then your registration will be rejected. As such, I strongly urge registrants to avoid using a VPN service to register, as they are often used by spammers and scammers, and as such will be blocked when discovered when auditing new registrations.
Sorry about all these hoops to jump through, but I am quite serious about blocking spammers and scammers at the gate on this site and am doing the very best that I can to that effect. Trust me, I would rather be doing more interesting things with my time, and wouldn't be making this effort if I didn't think it was worthwhile.

So far, pretty lucky, except one of my first wild caught Rat Snakes came with free ticks: not common enough to be a category?

wow ok first python imported ball ticks and a poor feeder.
when i did venomous most of them were wild caught ( was friends with and worked for an importer so it was easy) and got almost everything you could imagine ri's parasites etc

Before I started getting super picky about who I was buying from & settled down to what I actually wanted to work with, I've dealt with most of the list. The only thing I haven't had to deal with so far ( knock on wood ) is the IBD.
Back in the day, most of my critters came from local pet shops. Talk about learning experiences. Its amazing how long I've been mite free since I stopped going to the local shops. One was so bad, you'd bring home mites standing at the front counter and never setting foot in the reptile room 50 feet away.
