These are a small to medium semi-arboreal Varanid which are perhaps the most hesitant to bite lizard I have ever dealt with. I literally have never had one ever try and bite.
Although there is a seemingly constant flow of low numbers for this species right now, don't mistake that for them being common. This species has never been bred in captivity. It is represented in very low numbers and based on the history of their country of origin I would wager the availability will prove to be short lived.
