1.4.0 CBB20 Heterodon kennerlyi (Mexican Hognose Snake)

I have available 1.4.0 CBB’20 Heterodon kennerlyi (Mexican Hognose Snake) although I am allowing You to choose from 2.5.0 (I will be keeping 1.1 for myself, whichever specimens are left over). I offer two (2) different bloodlines: 0.1 from Marathon, Terry Co., Texas (Hken-04), produced by me and born July 12, and 2.4.0 from Alpine, Brewster Co. (sire) x Marfa, Presidio Co. (dam), Texas (Hken-200s), produced by Gerold Merker/Merker Reptiles and born August 14-17. Photos are marked up with alphanumeric specimen IDs and gender.

All are F1 CBB and eating well; however, on three (3) different items, see here:

Hken-201,204,208: Unscented F/T pinkies (9,9,4, respectively, as of 12/2)
Hken-04,210: Tuna-scented F/T pinkies
Hken-202,209: Eastern Spadefoots, Oak Toads (live and F/T)

Hken-201 and -202 are the males. Due to this complication, and also that I will only sell a pair and lone females (NO lone males), here is my ‘Price Guide’:

0.1 anuran-eater: $225
0.1 tuna-scented eater: $275
0.1 unscented eater: $300
1.1 anuran-eaters: $425
1.1 anuran + tuna-scented: $475
1.1 anuran + unscented: $500
1.1 tuna-scented + unscented: $525
1.1 unscented-eaters: $550

Nota Bene: If You choose Hken-202 and/or Hken-209, I will provide four (4) Oak Toads per specimen = one month’s ample supply. With a little scenting, though, they’ll transition to unscented in 1-3 meals, ask for my precise technique if You care.

~After keeping Heterodon nasicus for 25 years and breeding them for 11 years, and keeping H. kennerlyi for three (3) years and breeding for two (2) of them, I can honestly say I have come to love H. kennerlyi more, and there truly are physical and behavioural differences. They have MUCH more attitude for one and spread a nice neck-length hood like H. platyrhinos (unlike H. nasicus which just flattens the head), they have more chocolate-y blotches that fade out over more scales, and they are slightly more slender than H. nasicus. Getting into mitochondrial and molecular DNA, there are numerous good reasons H. kennerlyi was ‘emancipated’ from H. nasicus and granted species status in 2004. The neonates have proven more difficult to establish compared to my H. nasicus which nearly all neonates take unscented F/T pinkies right out of the egg, and there are theories behind this, such as being F1 neonates, but they are rewarding regardless. Well-worth the effort! ...and selling fast with 2.4.0 sold between the 9/12 Steel City and 9/13 Pittsburgh Reptile Shows, so grab them while You can!~

I vend all Hamburg and Pittsburgh Reptile Shows with my own tables under my own name, and the occasional other show (exempli gratia, Steel City, Mid-Atlantic, Creekside). I can also ship via FedEx, please provide Your ZIP code for a quote. OR, You can take advantage of my new venomous-focused transport service which has had three (3) phenomenal runs to date (11/3, 11/17, 11/30) with ALL positive feedback from ALL Sellers and Customers, see five (5) Replies on the ‘Texas-Bound November 3rd!!’ ad:, and see the original ad here: Nonvenomous is cheaper at $75.

Also available (see other ads):

2.2.0 CBB’20 Leioheterodon modestus
1.3.0 CBB’20 Pantherophis guttatus (“Okeetee”)
0.1.0 CBB’20 Naja nigricincta
