Anolis ID (Guyana import)

This species is exported from Guyana and collected around Georgetown. Is this A. aeneus or A. roquet? They are exported under the name of A. roquet. See attached pic of a male. Let me know your thoughts on the ID and why. Thanks!

Sort of looks like a female aeneus. Hard to tell from that photo though. Lots of variation in aeneus. But the babies and juveniles are pretty specific looking. I produced lots of these in captivity over the summer. Easy species.

Thanks for the reply. The pic is of an adult male. The males can sport a baby blue to greenish-blue coloration at times. Females are brown to gray. Can you post pictures of your adult male and female A. aeneus? Thanks!

First photo male, second female and collage is adult Male and juvenile male and female. Females are born with a stripe down their back. Makes for easy sexing.

Great pics! Yep, that's Anolis aeneus. Okay, these Anolis have been imported from Guyana for years under the name A. roquet.

Aeneus belongs to the roquet group so it's easy to see how they can be confused. Plus they aren't native to Guyana so that doesn't help either. It's very possible they can and do hybridize with roquet.
