AC units that I have seen do not go below 62F. What do you breeder use to keep the temps around 55F? I know it depends on the type of snake but just looking for general feedback on the tricks of the trade.

Yeah, I've heard of using Wine coolers. I think fridge is probably the way to go. I just need to find one that keeps it around 55 and 48F.

Get one of these, and you can use it for cooling during brumation...then heat it up to incubate your eggs.

Holy cow, that thing is pretty cool!

*This might be a dumb question* When you keep herps in a fridge or something do you have to open it up daily to exchange the air or do they circulate in outside air?

Me too. Actually I have to be careful that my basement isn't too cold. We have a room we call the freezer because there is a chest freezer in it. However, in the winter time it could be called that for the temperature, which can get down to below 40 degrees.

If I keep the door to the guest bedroom closed that room stays about 45-50 degrees all winter.

I was told by Sara (clarinet45) that opening it occasionally to exchange the air is a good idea, especially when incubating eggs. This also helps to balance humidity levels as well. But I think that some fridges circulate in fresh air, otherwise you would think the air would become stagnant.

Yeah, Louisiana is tough for getting the proper winter temps also.
