Ball Python Sterilization

Anyone have any experience with sterilizing ball pythons? I'm thinking with males it wouldn't be too difficult, tie off and cauterize the hemipenes. But females would be more difficult.

I've got a spider ball with wobble, so it got me thinking, if we could sterilize genetically flawed animals, then we would not have to put down so many that can thrive and make good pets.

Thoughts, ideas, opinion??

That is something I am all for. But isn't it just easier and safer for them to just keep them alone? Of course you can't control others though so if an imperfect one is to be adopted or sold that is totally understandable and an acceptable way to make sure irresponsible people don't add to the problem.

I this this carries on from another thread about passing on "Special" animals. For example if someone has to leave the hobby, or dies, what happens to animals that should not be bred?

I think sterilisation should be a very viable option, at least for larger males - I have heard that it is often done on male Green Iguanas for example.

It would be interesting if a Vet could chime in with an opinion of the physical options.
