Obviously this is a psyche ploy to drum into the heads of the next generation that guns are BAD. Where better to start than in the school system?

I think it's more like certain overly educated people over reacting. You can find these people with any subject not just guns or violence. Reptiles for one!

Hmm, so what does this say about our education system in that the more you are taught, the dumber you get?

Used to work with this guy that had phd in Corrections/Crime field. He could have worked any where in corrections for big money but stayed at local police dept because he had no people skills or common sense what so ever. He could piss you off just by opening his mouth. He had like 10 yrs of higher education. He ended going to Iraq to run jails over there. I was surprised he made it back in one piece.

A nation of fruits and nuts...

So what, even if he did shape his pop-tart like a gun and say bang bang?

His a kid and your a bunch of hyper sensitive fruitcakes.

Quote:
Baltimore, MD (KTNV) -- A student in Baltimore was suspended over breakfast.

7-year-old Josh Welch was eating a Pop-Tart at school. A teacher saw the pastry and said she thought it looked like it was being shaped into a gun.

The teacher also said she heard Welch say, "Bang Bang" while he was holding it.

That was enough to get him suspended.

Welch said his teacher got it completely wrong, "It was already a rectangle and I just kept on biting it and tore off the top, and it kind of looked like a gun but it wasn't."

Welch said he was trying to shape the Pop-Tart into a mountain.

The school sent out a letter late in the day to parents explaining what happened and why they thought it was a threat saying, "A student used food to make an inappropriate gesture."

Welch was suspended for two days.
