Hi, everyone. My names Dave, and I'm about 20 minutes away from Pittsburgh. I'm 20 years old. I love animals, and I'm going to school for Biology, then hopefully Zoology, Marine Biology, or Ecology in the future. I'm allergic to cats and dogs, so after we had to put my dog down about 6 months ago I decided that fish and herps would probably be best. I've never owned a reptile, but after talking to my friends who've owned / bred them, and reading/researching all that I could, I decided to get an Ackie Monitor. I wanted something medium sized, active, fun to watch, and potentially able to handle and interact with. It should be arriving this Friday, and I have a few last minute questions/concerns that I'd like to get some knowledgeable advice on so that everything is perfect and ready to go for when he/she arrives.
I posted a thread in the Iguanas and Monitors discussion already, so I'll just link you to it rather than posting it all again.

I think I have just about everything covered and in order, there's just a few little things that are still not
perfect. Some reassurance on the things I think I have covered would be appreciated also.
Thanks so much for your time. Hope to make some friends on here soon
Dave
