not the best first clutch ever..

finally got my first clutch, 4 slugs and 2 boob eggs, the boob eggs seem to be doing fine, candeled pink with veins. im sure most people would be upset or discouraged to find 4 slugs, but im thrilled it finally happend. it also happend to be from a female i didnt even know was gravid, and she was locked up with a male day before she layed, here are a few pics.

i have a question.. after a female ovulates, i have read that you cannot feel follicles when you palpate her?? is this true, or do they just get very stiff, to where you cannot palpate them?
im almost 100% sure my female mojo has just ovulated, i saw the wole mid swell, shes been off food for a while, but when i palpate her, they feel like almost fully developed eggs. they are huge.

I have been able to feel eggs on some females after ovi, but, it is quite difficult and most I cannot.

You are probally right, but when i do palpate her, her follicels feel larger than the slugs that were in my first clutch.

In general, I find that my females feel mushy after they ovulate. I've never pressed hard enough to feel eggs...I'm too worried about damaging them. She looks like she could be gravid to me though. Another indicator I look for is the way their spine gets more prominent once they are gravid.

Thanks for the info, her spine is protruding, i can count 9 in her, and they feel much bigfer than the boob eggs i got.. I hope she is not egg bound... When they become egg bound do their tails get super stumpy, like there is an egg trying to bust out? Or will they just become very restless?
