lizard inhabitants for 48L x 12W x 18H?

I picked up a cage on Craigslist the other day expecting the dimensions to be 48L x 18W x 12H. I was intending on putting a small uromastyx in there but apparently the person accidentally got the dimensions mixed up. Its 12" wide and 18" high.

It was originally from glasscages.com and has sliding glass doors. What lizard(s) could I keep in there comfortably. I'm a college student so I can't spend too much, but I'm willing to save up. So maybe $300 maximum. Lol I know that isn't much, but for me it is.

I'd appreciate all suggestions and advice!

BTW I'm not really looking for any arboreal geckos, I already have a few of those.

Have you considered anoles? Both green and brown anoles are inexpensive and make very interesting pets. You could keep a 1.2 trio in a tank that size. Some drainage rocks, top soil, and inexpensive pothos vines could create a very nice naturalistic vivarium for very little cost. I used to keep anoles as a kid and really enjoyed them.

Yeah I've had anoles before so I'm really looking for something different. I'd perfer something terrestrial or semi-arboreal but something that maybe isn't so common like leopard, crested or gargoyle geckos, but isn't extremely rare either. Does that make any sense? Lol

Is there anything communal that would work well in that set up? When I say communal, I mean they live in communities in the wild, not just forced to live together in captivity.

Skinks may work. Five-lines are fun and I believe you can keep natives as pets in South Carolina (but I would double check the regs just to be sure). How about dart frogs?

Nah I'm not that into frogs. I like something that I can handle a decent amount, a that will interact with you. What about like tree skinks or something? Idk. I want something non native. But I have kept five-lines in the past. Fun little guys, but too common.

Hmmm, not sure. I haven't really worked with the more esoteric lizards. Tree skinks can be pricey. Maybe cave geckos (Goniurosaurus spp.)? North American banded geckos (Coleonyx spp.)? Red-eyed crocodile skinks? Rankins dragons? Eublepharis hardwickii?

Yeah I've thought of banded geckos or croc skinks. But the setback on the croc skinks is I don't know how well the new tank can hold water. And if I did croc skinks I'd want to do like a river bed style. With running water. But the banded geckos may work. I'll have to figure out what substrate would be good for burrowing though.

Italian Wall Lizards - but if you don't separate males from females you'll be knee deep in babies in no time.

I've also thought about a rankings dragon, but would this cage really be big enough?
