It's a very good reproduction of a prehistoric amphibian called Diplocaulus.
It lived during the permian era around 270 million years ago. To bad it still isn't alive today.

Just checked some of my books. (I'm big into prehistoric life) The average size would be around 2 feet. So compared to some of the heavyweights of the time, it was on the puny side.
